Marc Erickson is a partner whose civil trial practice emphasizes the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, natural gas and propane explosions, electrocutions and other claims against utilities, products liability, business litigation, and municipal zoning law.
Marc has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in Missouri and Kansas, in both state and federal courts. His defense verdicts in Mitchell v. Evans, Beaty v. St. Luke's and Connors v. Goeking were recognized as some of the top defense verdicts in 2006 and 2007 by Missouri Lawyer's Weekly. He has been repeatedly included in the peer-selected "Best of Bar" listing in the Kansas City Business Journal since 2006, and he was also selected by his peers for inclusion among the listing of Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers in 2008. In 2008, he was also selected by Ingram's Magazine as one of the 40 Under 40 leaders in business, government and community in Kansas City.
Marc is a former Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators, and he has handled claims investigations and litigation in fire and explosion cases throughout the country.
Marc graduated magna cum laude from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, with a degree in Political Science and Diplomacy/Foreign Affairs in 1991. Upon graduation, he was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended law school at the University of Kansas, where he received his J.D. in 1994 and was awarded The Order of The Coif.
After receiving his law degree, Marc joined the law firm of Lathrop & Norquist in Kansas City, Missouri. Marc practiced at Lathrop & Norquist (and its successor Lathrop & Gage) from 1994 to 1999, working in the areas of personal injury, product liability, construction litigation, media law and real estate litigation. In 1999, Marc joined the law firm of Wagstaff & Cartmell.
