Experience briefing complex issues in MDL litigations

After graduating Kansas State University, Karen opened and operated a Nothing Bundt Cakes before attending the University of Kansas School of Law. In law school, she served as a dean’s fellow—a mentorship program for 1Ls—and chief justice of the moot court team, achieving top awards in both national and international competitions.

Karen’s practice focuses on appeals and legal writing and advocacy in complex cases including multidistrict litigation, class actions, and medical malpractice defense. She recently was instrumental in defending a $2.5 million jury verdict for a client at the Eleventh Circuit.

Karen serves as the Vice-Chair of the KCMBA Appellate Practice Committee, has been a guest presenter at the KCMBF Student Law Academy, and is committed to inspiring community and comradery among fellow legal writing enthusiasts.
