Wagstaff & Cartmell Attorney Ty Hudson Appointed to Leadership Roles in Two Major National Litigations

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wagstaff & Cartmell is pleased to announce that partner Tyler W. Hudson has been appointed to leadership positions in two significant national litigations: the Roblox Corporation Child Sexual Exploitation and Assault Litigation MDL and the Oracle Health/Cerner Data Breach Litigation pending in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

These appointments recognize Hudson’s experience in complex litigation and his role representing plaintiffs in high-stakes cases involving corporate accountability and consumer protection.

Leadership Appointment in Oracle Health / Cerner Data Breach Litigation

In the Cerner/Oracle Data Breach Litigation, Chief U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips appointed Hudson as Co‑Lead Interim Class Counsel. In this role, Hudson will help coordinate the plaintiffs’ litigation strategy and oversee pretrial proceedings on behalf of individuals whose information may have been compromised in the data breach.

The court appointed a small leadership group responsible for managing discovery, coordinating litigation strategy among plaintiffs’ counsel nationwide, and advancing the interests of the proposed class throughout the litigation.

The case centers on allegations that sensitive personal and medical information maintained by Oracle Health, formerly Cerner, was exposed in a large-scale data breach affecting healthcare systems and patients across the country.

Leadership Appointment in Roblox MDL

Hudson has also been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the Roblox Corporation Child Sexual Exploitation and Assault Litigation, a federal multidistrict litigation pending in the Northern District of California.

The MDL consolidates claims alleging that the Roblox platform failed to adequately protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse occurring through its online gaming ecosystem. As a member of the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee, Hudson will assist in coordinating discovery, developing litigation strategy, and supporting the prosecution of claims on behalf of plaintiffs nationwide.

The leadership structure was established by the court to efficiently manage the complex litigation and ensure effective representation of plaintiffs across numerous consolidated cases.

Commitment to Complex Litigation Leadership

Hudson focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and mass tort matters, representing individuals harmed by corporate misconduct, unsafe products, and data privacy failures. His appointment to leadership positions in these national litigations reflects the confidence courts and fellow plaintiffs’ counsel place in his experience and advocacy.

“Ty’s leadership appointments demonstrate the firm’s continued commitment to pursuing complex cases that seek accountability for companies whose actions harm consumers and the public,” said a spokesperson for Wagstaff & Cartmell.
