Lucy Malone is a litigation associate at Wagstaff & Cartmell LLP, where she focuses on high-stakes, complex mass-tort litigation. Since earning her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2021, she has built substantial experience in large-scale multidistrict proceedings, with a practice spanning pretrial strategy, depositions, discovery, witness development, and trial preparation.
Lucy played a significant role in the JUUL multidistrict litigation (MDL No. 2913), assisting in trial preparation and helping secure critical witness testimony. Most recently, she served as a member of the trial team for the first social media bellwether trial, contributing extensively to trial preparation in one of the most closely watched cases in the country. She is currently deeply involved in the consolidated social media addiction litigation (JCCP No. 5255 & MDL No. 3047), serving on the Master Complaint Committee, the Meta Discovery Committee, and the Bellwether Committee. At the heart of her practice is a commitment to advocating for young people and families harmed by powerful corporate actors — work she approaches with both compassion and rigor.
Admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas, Lucy has been an active member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys since 2021. Her work has earned consistent recognition from peers and the broader legal community: she has been named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 – Missouri (West) every year since 2022, was honored as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2025, and in 2026 received the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Women’s Justice Award in the Litigation category — a distinction recognizing women whose careers are defined by a commitment to justice in the courtroom.
Beyond her litigation practice, Lucy has presented on the ethical implications of social media at the Harris Martin Conference and remains active at the intersection of law, technology, and youth safety. A Kansas City native, she brings a strong sense of community, a client-centered mindset, and a genuine passion for helping others to everything she does.
